Richard is the principal of Woods Fletcher & Associates with a specialist focus on dispute resolution, public, employment and entertainment law. Prior to entering the profession 17 years ago, Richard spent two decades working in the media – including for Radio New Zealand and in the Parliamentary Press Gallery for the “National Business Review”. Richard contributes regularly to a range of publications on legal issues. He has appeared in a range of courts and tribunals over the years, including the Court of Appeal, High Court, and Employment and Environment Courts. He has negotiated settlements in major commercial, public and employment disputes, in some cases involving millions of dollars. In his spare time, Richard indulges his wide range of musical tastes with a bit of guitar playing and sound system restoration. He also enjoys collecting furniture and having a quiet drink with friends and family.
